Minus privacy policy

This privacy policy applies to Minus: minimalist launcher (com.kanarsoft.minus), an Android Home app developed and published by Kanarsoft.

Summary

Minus has no account, ads, analytics, tracking SDKs or Internet permission. It does not send personal or sensitive user data off the device.

Information accessed and purpose

  • Installed launchable apps. Minus reads app identity and labels to show the app drawer, search, favourites, folders and app actions. This is necessary for its core function as a launcher.
  • Optional usage information. If the user enables Statistics or daily limits and grants Android Usage Access, Minus reads foreground sessions and creates local opening-count and foreground-time summaries.
  • Optional Accessibility strict mode. If the user gives separate consent and enables the service in Android Settings, Minus observes only which app enters the foreground so it can apply the user’s local focus rules. It cannot retrieve screen content, tap controls or use overlays.
  • User configuration. Favourites, folders, hidden apps, custom labels, themes, language, interaction settings and focus rules are stored locally.

Collection, sharing and sale

Minus does not transmit this information to the developer or another company. It does not collect it on a server, share it with third parties, sell it or use it for advertising or analytics. There are no third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.

Storage, retention and deletion

Information is stored in the app’s private local storage for as long as the related feature or app data remains enabled. Cloud and device-transfer backup are disabled. Users can clear stored statistics inside Minus. Clearing Minus’s storage in Android Settings or uninstalling Minus removes all of its local data. Minus does not create user accounts and therefore holds no account data to delete remotely.

User choice and security

Usage Access and Accessibility are optional. Minus explains the relevant access before opening Android Settings, and either access can be revoked at any time without removing the core launcher. Local data is protected by Android’s application sandbox.

Children

Minus is not designed for or directed to children.

Changes

This policy will be updated before a release changes how Minus accesses, stores or transmits information. The date at the top identifies the current version.
